Font Love, Vol. XXI

Happy Font Friday everyone!  Today I would like to introduce my first font pick of September.  Side note: Wow, I cannot believe it is September already.  Summer just flew by for me.  How about you?  The official start of fall is in a couple of weeks and it is hard to escape the cozy charms of sweaters and leaves changing colors and drinking hot cocoa.  Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons.  Bloggers cannot stop talking about it and Pinterest is being flooded with awesome autumn images.  And at Anthropologie, where I work part-time, the store is transforming itself into a fall wonderland with chunky knits and layers and thick coats.  But where I live in Southern California, the temperatures have been in the 100s this past week.  At one point my car said it was 110 yesterday!  So it has been hard for me to completely get into the fall spirit when it hasn't exactly arrived in my neck of the woods.  High temps are not uncommon in September for us but the experience still isn't pleasant.  I am ready for SoCal to embrace fall, at least a little bit.

So now for my font pick.  My choice this week is actually one that Kerry of Super Swoon shared last week but I believe it is just too pretty not to share again.  Also, it is on sale right now for $20 off the normal price so for all those that are interested, hurry and snatch it up now.

Feast your eyes on Selaive:

Selaive comes from the foundry Latinotype who have a lot of other great favorites, including Merced, Guadalupe, and Regia Sans Pro (which I shared here).  Selaive is a geometric font but it has a ton of great swashes too so you can mix and match with the standard letters to add character, like in the image above.  It also comes in two thicknesses, light and bold, also shown above.

Here is Selaive without any of the swashes.  Simple, skinny, and clean...definitely my kind of look.

What do you think of Selaive?  I think it has that perfect subtle romantic flourish, not too curly and girly, but just right.  Latinotype tends to provide the right amount of flourish with their fonts, including a great set of alternative swashes to make text stand out.  But it all still feels very modern and simple.  Latinotype is definitely a favorite foundry of mine.

Love this one- it is just as pretty without the swashes as well! I can't believe it's September either- it's crazy how time has been flying lately!
