Happy Friday friends! And today is such a lovely Friday too. I have something so incredibly exciting to share, something that happened awhile ago but now has the chance to be revealed. Last year I was contacted by a fabulous bride named Devon who was looking for some crafty help for her wedding. She had a lot of fantastic ideas and just needed help with the execution of creative details. It was such a joy working with her and her husband Kevin on their rustic and vintage-inspired, ranch wedding. I designed custom decor elements for their big day and also was there the day of to style decor and all her amazing vintage props (she seriously had a mini antique store going on in her home). I showed you some sneak peeks before but now I can finally share pictures from the main event.
Today the stunning images from their wedding were featured on Ruffled and I had so much fun reliving this celebration. It was a beautiful day filled with all kinds of fun. Devon did a fantastic job with all the little details and she created such a spectacle for her guests. And the talented photographers of Stone Crandall Photography captured the day flawlessly.
The Camarillo Ranch venue was the perfect compliment and backdrop to Devon and Kevin's day. The ceremony was simple. It was about this couple, their love, and their family so the ceremony site wasn't clogged up with superfluous props or decor. Other than the chairs and balloons just a few mason jars with pom flowers were added. The grand trees on the site were also a nice backdrop.
The reception was held inside the old barn and in there we had all kinds of fun with decor and vintage pieces. As I said, Devon scored some great antiques so each and every table was adorned with wooden soda crates, apothecary jars and bottles, and rustic picture frames. I designed the table numbers which had embroidered details, wooden spools, and old buttons. They turned out really cute especially since each one was a bit different.
This dessert table had all kinds of goodies. Instead of a cake, Devon opted for red velvet and lemon cupcakes (they were so yummy, I have dreams about them still). We displayed them on wooden crates and I periodically refilled the table throughout the event. We wanted things at different heights and in all different jars and containers to give it that sweet's shop vibe. As a take-home treat, guests could fill kraft bags with old fashioned candies. The various options were super popular with the guests.
I also made this simple and sweet 'Just Married' sign that was draped across the bride and groom's table.
The guestbook was marked by this cool old typewriter, another awesome vintage find by Devon. The seating chart was written out on old windows which you can see propped up in the background.
Devon is a baker so she decided to give her guests something that was near to her heart. She made homemade Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract which her guests could take home and use in their own baking. The vanilla was packaged in mason jars and decorated with lace. I also made these stitched fabric tags to hang on each jar with the couple's names stamped on them.
Devon also decided to forgo real flowers and instead wanted something that felt more crafty. I made bunches and bunches of these yarn pom flowers and felt billy ball flowers which got displayed throughout the ceremony and reception, including all the tables like you can see above. There were so many Etsy-made and DIYed elements to this wedding that these faux flowers were just the right detail. And of course they were displayed in old mason jars. I'm such a sucker for mason jars.
Oh and did I mention Devon looked gorgeous. Look at that killer picture! They are the cutest couple.
