Lauren Elise Crafted on Facebook!

Happy Monday everyone! It's a late post for me on this lazy Monday. My family is still here and I'm taking advantage of the opportunity and putting work aside for awhile. But I have been a bit busy getting something in order and that is Facebook! Yep, Lauren Elise Crafted is finally on FB. It definitely took awhile and I drug my heals for a bit but finally I succumbed and started a page.

I have already added a few DIYs and pictures from the blog but I'll be doing more updating this week. I want to create a gallery of all my DIYs with links for easy viewing and sharing. My Twitter & Instagram feed will be showing up there and I'll be sharing links to my blog posts as well. So it will be a nice central hub for all things Lauren Elise Crafted and all the latest happenings.

Check out the right sidebar to 'like' me and follow the link to see the Lauren Elise Crafted page. I definitely want to connect with fellow readers, bloggers, and creatives so don't be afraid to say hello.

Have a great Monday!

My Week Through Instagram: Week Seven

Happy Saturday friends! Do you have the day off? Are you relaxing and enjoying it? My aunts are staying with us so I've been catching up with them, reading, and working on a few personal creative projects. Out-of-town family members are a great excuse for putting aside work that needs to get done. A little procrastination never hurt anyone, right? Especially in the name of family.

Here is what the seventh week of 2012 looked like for me...

Sunday: I got to go to Unique LA for the first time for their Local Love event with my brother and friends. I shared some pictures on Wednesday. It was a great show and I can't wait for the next one. I should start saving up some money now.

Monday: I spent part of the day working on a custom burlap banner for a bride I've been working with. Her bridal shower is today actually and I hope she has a fantastic time. I'll share pictures of the entire banner soon.

Tuesday: Tuesday was Valentine's Day! I packaged up this card for my Mom with a pretty doily and red heart.

Wednesday: On Wednesday night I got to watch my brother and his band Mojo Stone perform live. They always give an amazing performance. They are releasing a new album soon and hearing some of their new stuff got me super excited for what they have coming up.

Thursday: I finished up another role of film on my Diana Mini. Excited to send it in and see how my pictures turned out. I love the anticipation factor in waiting for film.

Friday: I started working on a sewing project on Friday. It felt good to use my sewing machine again. Danni from Oh, Hello Friend gave me these cute mini scissors and they were perfect to have nearby for snipping threads. Mini things are the cutest.

Saturday: Spending more time working with my sewing machine. I love the underside of sewing and embroidery projects. The threads get all twisted together and it's kind of a mess but there is something beautiful about it.

My Week Through Instagram: Week Six

Has everyone had a nice Saturday so far? Mine was quite lovely: relaxing, reading, designing, playing with my dog...the usual. Well the sixth week in 2012 is behind us now so here is my weekly recap of Instagram pictures.

Sunday: I got to see some gorgeous, billowy, white clouds on my way out of work.

Monday: Packaging for a Valentines Etsy order.

Tuesday: I started a new feature on my blog called Styling Vignettes. This time I cataloged some natural elements from my backyard plus a beautiful feather print from Carolyn Suzuki.

Wednesday: I wasn't feeling super great on Wednesday so I spent extra time in bed resting. I started watching Downton Abbey. I'm all caught up now and must admit I'm pretty hooked. I captured a picture of the talented Maggie Smith. Love her!

Thursday: After a day of clouds and potential rain, the sky cleared up and we had 80 degree SoCal weather. Typical.

Friday: I ran an errand and took Scout with me. She likes sitting in reverse in the back seat of the car. So weird. It looks like I put her in 'car time out.'

Saturday: I worked on some stamping today. I get to share the results on Monday.

So that was my week six. What did yours look like?

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday lovelies! I'm so sorry for the lack of a post yesterday. I hated not writing but I've been a bit under the weather the last few days and needed some time to rest. Already I'm feeling better today and expect to have some great posts to share next week, like a last minute DIY freebie for Valentine's Day on Monday. Since I don't have any projects to post, I decided to share some personal pictures of my dog Scout. It's been awhile since I did a doggy post and it felt right for Friday. She's awful cute!

How can I resist that face? It's impossible, I can't. She gets away with everything.

This is her proper pose where she crosses her legs. Oh, so lady-like.

I rediscovered these two pictures on my hard drive and had to share them. Too funny! Scout had torn apart her bedding and the stuffing was everywhere. She actually liked sleeping on it. It looked like she was sleeping in a cloud. She has nice, new replacement bedding now.

So very comfortable.

She loves sleeping in her kennel. I think she feels safe and secure in there. Check out that bed head!

And for fun, I did an animated gif of Scout so you could get a better idea of her personality. I used Make A Gif which is easy and free.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Backyard Blooms

Southern California weather is so crazy. Yesterday rain threatened the southland and dark, gloomy clouds hung over our heads all day. Apparently it did rain closer to the coast, in San Diego and Los Angeles, but it stayed dry where I am, east of LA. And this morning I wake up and what do I see? Clear, sunny, blue skies again. You would never imagine yesterday's gloominess after today. Those of you who are getting tired of winter probably think I'm crazy. And you're right. I shouldn't complain about sunny skies.

Yesterday in my styling vignettes feature I included some fruit tree blooms from my backyard. Today I wanted to share a few pictures I captured of our blooming tree.

For now it seems winter has passed us by and because of this fruit trees are blooming like crazy. They are so beautiful and cheerful. As I walk around my neighborhood I spot so many spring hues. You can't help but feel inspired.

Bees were buzzing around the flowers. I was so surprised to actually catch this little guy in action.

If you are still surrounded by winter gloom, hang in there. Spring will come. And it will be all the more wonderful when it does.

Have a beautiful Wednesday!
